I've recently stumbled upon this stylish young lady's blog Chanelfiles and I'm loving it. Her style is immaculate yet easy-going. I even had the pleasure of interviewing her...

 See for yourself...

  • What made you want to start a style blog?
Chanel: chronicle my style and document what I perceive my    style/taste in fashion to be. Also to be able to look back and see how my style has changed was also another big factor in creating Chanelfiles.

  • How would you describe your style?
Chanel: sometimes very dainty and colorful and at other times very clean and modern. I love classic, tailored pieces.

  • Who are your style icons?
Chanel: My ultimate style icons would be Jenna Lyons, the President of J.Crew, Rachel Zoe for her boheme/mod style, Deborah Llyod, the Creative Director of Kate Spade, and June Ambrose for her vicarious way of mixing and matching funky and classic pieces. I like to think of myself as their unidentified love child. <lol>

  • What websites and blogs do you read daily?
Chanel: <just to name a few> are Atlantic-Pacific, This Time Tomorrow, Cupcakes and Cashmere, J.Crew and Kate Spade's blog, and The Sartorialist.

  • What trends are you currently loving and what is on your summer wish list?
Chanel: Trends that I'm currently loving is still the carry-over from last season's pop of color. Loving the neon trend, as well as the addiction of sheer. Sheer is so sexy and flirty but at the same time doesnt revel too much. And I'm absolutely NEEDING a short suit for the upcoming summer. Such a fun twist on something so tailored and classic.

  • What are your favorite designers and shops?
Chanel: Some of my favorite designers and shops are Rachel Roy and Alexander Wang. Both have a very simplistic aesthetic about their designs. Some favorite places to shop are Zara, J.Crew, H&M, Old Navy, and Jeremy's.

  • What is your utmost essential accessory?
Chanel: It definitely has to be my watch. It doesn't matter what you have on, a classic watch makes for the perfect addition.

  • What is your beauty regimen that you live by?
Chanel: simply take care of your skin. I dont wear too much makeup so I usually tend to go to the extreme in making sure that I use skin care products that will continuously enhance my natural skin. I would say that using a sunscreen daily is of the utmost importance!

  • What ‘timeless’ pieces are in your closet?
Chanel: David Yurman bracelets, a Tiffany's woven ring, my patent black Christian Louboutins, and a simple Gucci messanger bag. These pieces I know I will have and can use forever.

  • Lastly, who takes all you pictures?
Chanel: I have a photographer here in DC as well as one in California when I visit home. I have been lucky to find two amazing people who don't mind snapping my moments of style obsessing. lol

Thank you Chanel!
